Modeling Human Visual Attention

In order to interact smoothly with others, we humans guide others’ attention through our own behavior. Focusing on magic tricks as an extreme example of such attention guidance, we have stuied the modeling of human visual attention by analyzing the gaze point of a person wathching a magic video.

We have also been conducting research on a method to estimate where a person’s attention is directed based on the orientation of their face and the visual data of the surrounding environment near a mobile robot.
