About Us

We are exploring the technologies necessary for new artifacts, including robots, to coexist with and support humans.

We are part of the Department of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering for undergraduates and the Department of Robotics for graduates.

Most of the activities are carried out as Hirata-Salazar Laboratory/Tamura Laboratory

To Join Us

Undergraduates

We accept students from the Department of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering in the form of the Hirata/Tamura Laboratory. Laboratory assignment takes place in the 5th semester (3rd year). Please check the guidance sessions for details on assignment. In our laboratory, students decide on their graduation research theme in their 4th year, and the supervising faculty member is detemined accordingly.

Graduates

We are part of the Department of Robotics, Graduate School of Engineering. For more information about the admissions process, please visit https://www.eng.tohoku.ac.jp/english/admission/procedure/grad.html
